Early introduction of peanut snacks can help reduce allergies!
The rate of peanut allergies has increased over the past decade. We have also found that a significant allergy can lead to anaphylaxis and death. This study looked to see why Israel had a low prevalence of peanut allergies compared to other European countries. The study found that Israel introduced peanuts at an earlier age then most countries with a snack called Bamba (now sold at Trader Joes). The conclusion was 'The early introduction of peanuts significantly decreased the frequency of the development of peanut allergy among children at high risk for this allergy and modulated immune responses to peanuts.
